                          Interview partner questions           

 
1.       What is your name?

2.      Can you tell me anything interesting about your name (named after a parent?  Name means something?).

3.      Okay.  Where are you originally from?

4.      When did you come to State College?

5.      Is this your first trip to America?

6.      If no:  I see.  Tell me about when you were here before.

7.      So what do you think of State College?

8.      What do you think of PSU and the IECP program?

9.      Do you think that this program will help you achieve your academic and career goals?

10.  What specifically do you want to study in the future?

11.  What lead you to choose that field?

12.  Have you worked in this field before or studied it is school before now?

13.  In the bigger picture, do you think that State College is an accurate reflection of “Typical America” and “Typical Americans”

14.  Has living here changed your idea of what America and Americans are like?

15.  What do you miss most about being in your home country?

16.  What do you like best about living in America?

17.  If you stay here for a long time, do you think that you will be changed in any way?

18.  I see.  So speaking of change; where do you see yourself in 5 years?  How about 10?

19.  Is this why you chose to come specifically to State College?

20.  It (State college) is a small place.  How did you hear about it?

21.  Now that you are here, what would you like to do most now or in the future that is specifically related to being here?

22.  Let’s talk about something non-conventional.  If you could live anyplace you wanted, where would that be?
